ASUS ROG Maximus V Formula Sets Three World Records during Computex
Performance-optimized design achieves RAM overclocking milestones together with G.SKILL memory modules in three different categories
Manila , Philippines – Computex 2012 proved an extensive showcase for new products and technologies, with highly positive response from media and IT professionals as well as consumers. The venue also hosted several new extreme overclocking accomplishments, three of the most significant done on the new ASUS ROG Maximus V Formula motherboard. Designed for high-end tuning and gaming, the board offers a feature-rich platform for overclockers of all experience levels. The three world records indicate ROG’s insistence on the finest engineering, components, and overclocking features continues to garner success. They include top SuperPi 32M, memory bandwidth read speed, and DDR3 16GB memory frequency scores, and further show that close cooperation between ASUS and memory makers such as G.SKILL offers customers the best-optimized and most compatible boards in the industry, with hundreds of different memory module combinations tested on each new model, whether ROG, TUF Series, or mainstream.
SuperPi 32M: 4 minutes44.734 seconds
World-famous overclockers Fredyama-san and Shamino collaborated on this challenge, pushing G.SKILL CL5-9-7-18 1T DDR3 memory to a world-record setting 2646MHz in the demanding SuperPi 32M benchmark. Their Maximus V Formula featured an Intel® Core™ i7 3770K processor.
Memory bandwidth read speed: 32,339MB/s
Highly respected in hardcore performance circles, overclocker Hiwa Pouri was able to push G.SKILL TridentX CL10 1T DDR3 to this new bandwidth world record, using intricate memory timing that made the most of the Maximus V Formula’s overclocking features and the capabilities of the Intel® Core™ i7 3770K processor.
DDR3 16GB memory frequency: 3286MHz
Once more turning to G.SKILL TridentX memory, Hiwa Pouri accomplished this feat with 16GB CL11 DDR3 set to a default 2800MHz. The new world record proves that extreme speeds are a reality even with high density kits. The Maximus V Formula was once more paired with an Intel® Core™ i7 3770K processor.
ASUS would like to thank the dedicated overclockers for taking the time to establish ROG Maximus V Formula’s significant tuning potential, and of course G.SKILL for providing some of the world’s best memory for overclocking and enthusiast-grade applications.
